Mixing video and slide show

I created a DVD with is made of video and and a slideshow. The slideshow works fine within VideoStudio but once burnt on the DVD it does not work, the music plays on a black screen. The rest of the footage works fine, what could have happened?

you have not told us much about the procedure you used, after you put all the photos in the timeline, what did you do then - did you make a video from them to burn to the DVD - just copying a succession of images to a DVD is not going to play in many standalone players.

so can you detail your steps in getting from images in the timeline to burning a DVD.

I added pictures in the timeline, a few in between video clips, which play fine and then a series of photos at the end for the last sequence. Then I created a DVD menu and burned the whole thing to an image (which took the crazy time of about 14 hours) then I burned the iso to a DVD. The photos sequence does not not work either on my computer DVD. Actually it plays but its all black, I know it plays because I added FX to a couple pics and I can see these playing on a black screen.
