I did my project (.vsp) and marked a dozen chapter points. I then selected Share tab , Create Disc, Bluray (1920x 1440), added 2 other projects (.vsp), created my main menu (BD authoring), then burned into BMDV folders (to correct before burning to disc) . I then created an image file (with ImgBurn) to keep for future copies. When I play my image file (PowerDVD9), I have my main menu, start the movie, plays fine, but no "next chapter" to jump to (always come back to the beginning of the movie. Are chapter points recognized and activated in Bluray ?
Thanks !
Guy

Re: Chapter points not activated in Bluray
There's a longstanding problem when you mark the chapter points in the editing module. It is much better if you do them in the burning module when constructing your menu.
I am interested why you created an image file. ImgBurn can burn any number of copies direct from the BDMV folder you have already created....then burned into BMDV folders (to correct before burning to disc) . I then created an image file (with ImgBurn) to keep for future copies.

Re: Chapter points not activated in Bluray
Thanks Ken !
That's what I was afraid off ! For chapter points , you confirm what I just experienced . In the last hour or so, I played around with chapter points in .vsp and in "add chapters" at authoring/burning time in order to get what I wanted , and it seems to work , even if it is not as straightforward and as obvious as I thought it would be.
The Editing portion of VS is great but for an occasional user like me who does not use VS each week, the authoring/burning has always been not so obvious to use . Way back (prior to 2005) , I was using Pinnacle Studio (that had video-audio sync problems, so I moved to Ulead then), but Pinnacle Studio had a great feature where we could very easily insert marking points in the timeline (M1, M2...etc for menus and C1,C2,C3..etc for chapters and so on for sub-menus...etc...) and their DVD authoring/burning was a charm ; I don't know if they still do but now that Corel owns them, maybe it willl rub-off on future VS versions (?)
As for ImgBurn, you're right that it can burn directly ; I do it for the convenience of retaining only one file with all in it (no folders with multiple files) in case I need to burn a new copy in a year or two. It just happened to me a couple of months ago that a travel movie disc from 6 years ago failed and would not play anymore, and my image file was then my saviour.
Thanks again for your usual wisdom !

Re: Chapter points not activated in Bluray
A Video_Ts folder can just as easily be burned to a disc using Imgburn as an iso file (it would have been the same saviour as the iso file). The advantage of the folder set is that it can be added to a video editor while an iso file has to be "unzipped" first to create the Viedo_TS folder

Re: Chapter points not activated in Bluray
A folder can also be played by most software DVD or Blu-Ray players, whereas an ISO has to be "mounted" on a virtual drive before it can be played. However, I think VLC Player can play ISOs.
