ok i just uploaded vid to pc how do i do the auto split so i can burn it to dvd

but I never ever split my video into scenes first - it's up to you of course - but I never see an advantage in doing it - I just put my video in the timeline - start at the beginning with a title - then work my way through the video cutting out unwanted bits using the scissor tool - and re-arranging bits as required.

There does not seem to be an accessible user guide for X5 - but you can find the one for X4 here :-

i want to split into chapters i have nero and it let me do it but rather use this sofware is there a way to do that here thanks

NO - it is not possible to split into chapters AUTOMATICALLY using VideoStudio - you can only split into SCENES.

You can split into scenes using the procedure I have twice given you above.

The only way that VS sort of lets you automatically split a video into chapters, is to do it by time i.e. a new chapter every x minutes... But that of course takes absolutely no account of scene changes.
