120 fps not importing
Hello; shot video at 120 fps HD MP4 NTSC/HD (720 not 1080), with an Lumix FZ200 camera. Saves to hard-drive with Panasonic software. Plays proper in VLC. Video Studio closes down when attempting to import it to the library, when in the edit mode. I can import jpegs or regular videos no problem. Using VSx4. This should be like using video shot with a GoPro Hero3. Any one done this? Thanks--Warren

Re: 120 fps not importing
Hopefully someone will be able to answer substantively soon. I just got my Hero 3 this morning and it -- and the remote -- are currently charging. I will be able to experiment after that with 120 fps footage. Mind you, that sort of footage, and other aspects of the Hero 3 high end output e.g. 4K video, may be well beyond VS's current capabilities... It's only relatively recently that it could handle 60 fps at 1080p video!

Re: 120 fps not importing
Great Ken; from the camera manual:
High Speed Video: 1,280 x 720 pixels [NTSC Model]
MP4, 30fps (Sensor output is 120fps)
[PAL Model]
MP4, 25fps (Sensor output is 100fps)
640 x 480 pixels [NTSC Model]
MP4, 30fps (Sensor output is 240fps)
[PAL Model]
MP4, 25fps (Sensor output is 200fps)
Apparently, if i shoot 1 minute of video, it takes 4 minutes to play back, in the camera or VLC. I have seen examples of these videos on you-tube. I will see how you make out with your new Here3.

Re: 120 fps not importing
For the record, I can import 1280x720p, 120 fps, MP4 (AVC/h.264 with AAC audio). The video length is 30 seconds. The video was created in Vegas Pro 12 with the Mainconcept AVC codec.
Could it be the audio that is causing problems?

Re: 120 fps not importing
Well, after charging the battery of the Hero 3, I then had to update its firmware -- a bit of a hassle since the on-line procedure crashed Internet Explorer (their preferred browser) every time it tried to automatically detect the camera. Anyway, I finally manually updated it....
...and just did some quick videos using 1280 x 720 at 120 fps. (Audio is mp4a AAC at 48,000 Hz). They opened and played perfectly in VS X5 (I'm afraid I don't have X4 on this computer.) Audio also excellent. That was in Clip mode.
In Project mode, however, both played quite jerkily, as though VS was only playing every one in three or four frames -- which I guess is what was happening in reality . Audio was nevertheless still smooth.
Interestingly enough, though, both played equally jerkily in VLC player, which normally plays just about everything just fine... WMP, on the other hand, which is not a great player, played both clips very smoothly!

FWIW, I then joined the two clips together in a project, and rendered them 'Same As First Clip'. The new video played back fine, though as you expected, it plays in slow motion -- the 25 second project takes 1 minute 40 seconds to play back i.e. 4 times more slowly at 30 fps than at 120 fps. (I forgot to mute the audio which zipped by at normal speed and of course stopped after 25 seconds...)

Re: 120 fps not importing
My audio is bit rate of 128kbps and 2 channel stereo at 48kHz. VLC plays it perfect. Even windows movie player accepted it and rendered it to play. Not as good as VLC. I wonder if I need VS15?
