Hi, I am currently using X4, and I find a few things in this program limiting.
I need to be able to make transitions like crossfades from clips that are on diferent video tracks.
I also would like to be able to cut and paste video and audio that has been separated from each other. X4 only allows me to cut and paste if the audio is in tact with the video.
The third thing is I need to be able to create animation from still photos.
Any insights in what direction I need to pursue would be greatly appreciated.
Ronnie in Vancouver, Canada.

Re: Suggestions for the right upgrade
Suggest you try the free download of X5 and see if that gives all you need. There is an excellent tutorial about crossfades to and from the transition tracks.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Re: Suggestions for the right upgrade
no version of VideoStudio will allow you to make animation from a still photo - you need to be looking at image manipulation software for that - not video.
and the tutorial that Terfyn mentioned can be found here :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2SgRd4u6ZM

Thank you Brian. I could not remember who had made that tutorial.
