AfterShotPro 1.1.0.30 doesn't start *SOLVED*

Post by Ferry »

Hello Forum,

at last I run AfterShotPro 1.0.1.10 without problems. After updating to 1.1.0.30 it doesn't start anymore. There are no errrors displayed. It hangs at "**** Making CL Manager".

On my System runs a LinuxMint Debian Edition on a 64bit AMD 3870 APU with Radeon 6550HD. OpenCL is enabled.

I think it's an OpenCL-Problem but I don't know how to solve it.

For the Moment I switched back to 1.0.1.10 - it runs pefectly.

Check in the ~/.config directory for the Qt or AfterShot properties. There might be an OpenCL toggle.
Set that to off and then try again (I am not at my Linux box, so I can't check for the file myself).

cheers

Hello, try to change the '~/.config/Corel/AfterShot Pro.conf' line

Code: Select all

Preferences\OpenCL\Enabled=true
to

Code: Select all

Preferences\OpenCL\Enabled=false
It seems to work at least on my Fedora 12 installation. Other distros should be similar, I guess.

Hello,

to change the CONF-File solves the Problem at first. Thank you for help.

I found out, that the "AMD-APP-SDK" (to use OpenCL on Radeon Graphic Cards) in Version 2.8 was the Problem. Now, I've installed the Version 2.7 an all works fine (with OpenCL enabled too).
In the ASP's "Hardware Acceleration Prefences", "Advanced Micro Devices" is shown as Platform now, but I can't set the Checkbox to use it.
A start in a Terminal tells me, that ASP can't find a OpenCL-Device, but I think it's not an ASP Problem, but a Problem between AMD-SDK and my GPU.

So - I think - this Thread can set to "SOLVED"!

Thank you very much!
