How can I fit 4.1GB on a DVD?

I have a MPEG2 video file on my HD I captured in VS7. It's 4.1GB. When I try to put it on a disc, it goes through 6 hours of stuff and right before it puts it on the DVD, it says there is not enough room on the disc.

How can I get a 4.1GB file on a DVD disc?

Also, when I create chapters and it doesn't burn, the next timne I try again, I have to go in and make the chapters again. How do I keep what I already did stay so I don't have to go in and do it over everytime I want to try? Chris.

I believe if you back out of the disk creation module back to the
timeline and then save the complete project the burning module
information is also saved.
