Hello Terfyn,
You're right to ask me to check for the obvious, but indeed, that is not it. In project mode, it stays mute as a fish, while in clip/sound mixer mode the sound is fine...

Hi
I did mention that you are running Windows 8 and Video Studio 12, it could simply be a compatibility issue.
Did you install all VS 12 patches provided by Corel ?

Re: MP4 File - No audio playing in Project
I'm experiencing the exact same problem with all audio format. I have PRO X4. I have the same audio problem on Windows 8. Did not have this problem on XP. HOWEVER, check this out. I made a small 1 minute movie from a single Go Pro video clip (like I've done 50 times with XP) and then imported an mp4 audio to music track #1. That worked. Three days later I create another video from Go Pro footage. Only this video is 6 minutes long and is made up of 20 or so Go Pro clips. I insert the same mp4 audio to music track #1 and it does not work. Is there a memory issue involved since this is a larger video with more clips?

Re: MP4 File - No audio playing in Project
I very much doubt it. I regularly, these days, make GoPro movies from my Hero 3 Black. They usually have quite a few native GoPro mp4 clips in them, and last well beyond 6 minutes. Moreover, I have Win 8.1, and I have never once had a problem either editing or producing a new video, in the original mp4 format or other formats as well.

Hi All
Not sure if I'm in the right place. A few days ago I switched from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I used Media Creation Tool. Everything was fine.
And now about my VSP project in Video Studio Pro X2. It contains photos in Video Track, text in Title Track 1 and mp3 in Music Track.
If I want to play the project in Timeline View, the sound is "nowhere". (In Windows 7 everything was fine). When I play the project in Audio View or if I play mp3 from Music Track the sound is OK.
I tested a clip with sound in the Video Track. Same result : when I play the project in Timeline View the sound in clip disappear, but if I play the clip the sound is OK.
What I did?
I selected Enable/Disable 5.1 surround and I get the warning : "Modifying your project settings may clear the cache for audio/video preview and the undo/redo functions. Do you want to continue?"
I selected OK .
Now everything is fine : when I play my project in Timeline View the sound is OK!

Many, many thanks for this. I got the problem after upgrading to Windows 10, hopefully it has fixed my issue.
