USB to Firewire cable

Has anyone tried this cable, I see tons of them in Ebay.

So my camera has a USB connection, my PC has USB2 and Firewire ports, this cable has in one end a USB connector and Firewire in the other.

My question is: If I used this cable, would the Editing Video softwares would be able to detect my Vido Camera as a DV type Device, and also, what kind of transfers would I get?

Is the link below what your talking about?

The advertisement says USB to Firewire but when you read the
documentation the cable connected Firewire from the camcorder to
USB2 on the computer.

The box in the middle of the cable (see link below) is a hardware coupling device.

My question would be then: is there such thing?

I now use firewire from camera to computer much better clearer transfer. as firewire faster therefore no distorting of image.
