HI trying to upgrade PSP x4 to SP 3 but the patch requires a file from the CD, the patch install runs fine untill about 8% after acepting T&C, theni get a popup requesting that a feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM and prompts for the Corel Paint Shop Pro x4 Disk be installed. File in question is PSPPro.msi and wont let me select any other file type.
The source of this patch was download by PSPx4 and run on shutdown of application , the PSPX4 was purchased from Corel and downloaded as an EXE file. ( PSPP_X4_PF.EXE)
I guess the question im looking for is where can i get this file (is extraction from EXE file possible) or how can i turn my installation EXE file into a CD.
Current software is on SP 2 version 14.2.0.1 i have tried downloading patch from corel itself but get the same error
actually i should have updated OS I am running Windows 7 64bit Enterprise and suspect the core of enterprise may be same as Windows 8 hence same error

Same issue with PSP X4 on Windows 8 Pro laptop. Receive error message: Error 1731. The source installation package for the product is out of sync with the client package. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package PSPPro.msi. This error occurred both from doing the update through the PSPX4 program and doing a download of SP3 from Corel. Was able to do update on my Win 7 desktop.

If you have WinZip installed, can you right-click on that executable and extract the contents?hardymt wrote: I guess the question im looking for is where can i get this file (is extraction from EXE file possible) or how can i turn my installation EXE file into a CD.

Re: PSP X4 SP3 missing source file pspro.msi on patch instal
I remember this issue coming up at least once before and I believe the issue was that the PSPPro.msi was part of the initial download but was somehow relegated to the temp folders and eventually deleted. I did a search and found this old thread that may be of some help (I hope).

Tks for the info Kathy, tried the suggestions in the string without positive results. Seems the SP3 is not unpacking fully and I am unable to access the pspro.msi file. Might have to do a reinstall of PSP X4 and go from there.
