moviefactory4 dvd to youtube

Post by Ladislaus »

Copied a programme to a DVD from TV and made an iso file using moviefactory 4 to store in the PC. I tried to upload to Youtube but failed with a message saying that it is a incompatible file.
DVD tech has been double dutch for me. Please advise in the simplest form how to overcome the problem. As ever I appreciate it. Thanks

You can't upload an .iso file to youtube - it is a disc image file and not a viewable video file - you need to create an mp4 - or at worst a wmv file in order to upload to Youtube.

I do not think you can do what you want in DVD Moviefactory at all - it is a programme for creating DVDs from Videos - not videos from DVDs.

I cannot remember Moviefactory 4 - it is very very old - I have version 6 and even that is a bit ancient.

I am afraid that to get a video from a DVD up to Youtube you need a different programme - something like Corel VideoStudio - do you have access to something like that.

well version 8 is very old now - but is the sort of programme you need - import your video to the timeline and use the programme to output a .wmv file for youtube.

Sorry I cannot remember all the settings etc in V8 - I don't recall the full setup or whether it could make mp4's which are generally better quality.

Glad that VS8 is the type of programme to upload vidoes in youtube.
I will have to read the manual and figure out if this could make mp4
Thanks all the same Brian.
