VideoStudio Essentials X3 not uploading videos
Have a JVC HD Memory Camera GZ-E10. Filled up the SD card and I wanted to upload to the computer. I tried to upload directly to computer and then realized it wouldn't work without VideoStudio Essentials X3. I loaded it and when I tried to upload I get the "either no video capture driver is installed in this system, or no device is connected." The first time I opened it up, I saw something about which drivers to fix it but the problem had not happened yet and now that it has, I can't seem to find how to resolve the problem. I'm using Vista Home Premium and any help is appreciated, thanks.

Re: VideoStudio Essentials X3 not uploading videos
In fact you need no more than Windows to transfer the video from an SD card in a camcorder to the computer -- or at most the software which probably came with the JVC. You are trying to "capture" but that is limited to only a small number of camcorders these days. If your camera has an SD card, then Windows should see the camera/card as a separate drive, just like a USB stick drive, for instance. So if My Computer or Windows Explorer can "see" that drive, you transfer the video to your computer in the usual copy/paste method. And once the video is on the computer, in a place you know, then you simply use Insert Video within VS to open and edit it. Incidentally, Video Studio Essentials X3 is a horrible program which Corel should never have produced -- nor the full X3. They stuffed up big time. So if you get the chance, ditch it and upgrade to either X4 or the current X5.

I simply take the SD card out of my camcorder and put it in the card reader slot on my PC then drag and drop from SD card to Windows folder - then import them to VS.
