I was delighted to see ASP advertise an update today.
But it doesn't install on Fedora Core 16, since
RPM claims that the new version is older than the currently installed version:
# rpm -i AfterShotPro_i386.rpm
package AfterShotPro-174:1.0-1.10.i386 (which is newer than AfterShotPro-174:0.0-0.0.i386) is already installed
file /opt/AfterShotPro/bin/AfterShotPro from install of AfterShotPro-174:0.0-0.0.i386 conflicts with file from package AfterShotPro-174:1.0-1.10.i386
1.1.0.30 Linux RPM install fails

workaround for mis-numbered RPM
It appears that the update failed because the new RPM is mis-numbered
(or perhaps, not numbered at all)
Erasing the old one and installing the new one from scratch seems to work:
# rpm -q AfterShotPro
AfterShotPro-1.0-1.10.i386
# rpm -e AfterShotPro
# rpm -i AfterShotPro_i386.rpm
# rpm -q AfterShotPro
AfterShotPro-0.0-0.0.i386
Help/About banner now shows 1.1.0.30
Curiously, the release notes for this update say that "RAW Noise" is enabled by default,
but it seems to be un-checked when I examine NEF's with this version, just like in the previous version.

Re: workaround for mis-numbered RPM
Remember that ASP won't alter have already been touched by it, only newly-viewed files. Any camera defaults you have may also override the new default setting (assuming it is there in the 1st place - I haven't ascertained whether this is the case or not).lenb wrote:Curiously, the release notes for this update say that "RAW Noise" is enabled by default,
