I aplolgise if this has been asked before.
Is there a table of actions that use the Shift key? The Keyboard Shortcuts show Shift + Click and Shift + Play but, for example, the Shift key can be used to stretch or shorten an audio track without losing the contents, just varying the playback speed.
Are there any other uses for the Shift key?

There is a full list of Keyboard shortcuts at "Appendix A" on page 169 of the user manual.
you can find the user manual on a Windows 7 PC at - "C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X5\UserGuide" on 64 bit systems
or "C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X5\UserGuide" on 32 bit systems.

Re: The "Shift" Key in keyboard shortcuts
Thank you Brian, I have those lists printed out and they show the two uses of the Shift key I have mentioned.
It does not mention (on my list) the use of the Shift key to adjust the length of an audio clip without affecting the contents.
I am still wondering if there are any other uses for the Shift key other than those mentioned.

Re: The "Shift" Key in keyboard shortcuts
I am having problems with your comment about using the spacebar to extend music though - how do you do that - whatever mode I'm in the spacebar just starts and stops playback.

Re: The "Shift" Key in keyboard shortcuts
Not the space bar. Press and hold the Shift Key, grab the end of the music clip and pull or push as required.
What should happen is that the clip remains as a complete piece but slows down or speeds up when played. It is useful for matching the music to the video but can sound awful if the change in speed is large. I use it to match clips that are nearly the same length.

Hi
Shift + drag the trim handles will apply Speed/Time – lapse to the clip.
Double click your clip in the timeline to open the Options Panel
Choose the Speed Timelapse option
This can be applied to Audio and Video clips
