Any idea how to add following 2 effects in VS9:
1. News Video, Inset - video inset with news banner. Video shrinks and expands to full screen automatically after few seconds after showing banner.
2. Credits Video left - Credits scroll up on the right with video sqeeze on left. Video expands to full screen automatically after the end of credit scroll up.
These 2 effects are available in Windows Movie Maker Version 2 under title animation and they are very common effects shown on TV programs.
If not available in VS9 has anyone custom created one with Ulead Title/Video effects SDK?
Thanks

I have never actually done your first option but I see no reason why it should not be possible - just think a bit about what you want to do - the text banner is easy thats just a title isn't it - then put your video in the overlay track so that you can apply pan and zoom to it - maybe with a plain black colour block in the top track to 'fill in' while you zoom. No easy to apply 'Effect' but just a little thought and I'm sure there is a way.
The second is also easy and I have done that - again no instant effect - but a little thought - just create a scrolling title move it to the left or right and again put your video in the overlay track so that you can 'squash' it while the titles roll. you do need to cut the video at the end of the title scroll to allow you to open it up to full screen again.

Thanks BrianCee.
If I am not wrong, in the first effect, pan/zoom will work within the video. That is, subject in video remain same size but only certain areas of the subject are panned/zoomed. Does pan/zoom allow to re-size the complete video as mentioned in below steps assuming final video size as 720 x 480 ?
Sequence of Steps to happen while video is playing:
1. Video size sqeezes from 720 x 480 to 180 X 120 in proportional size decrease. During this size decrease, the banner becomes visible at the bottom of 720 x 480 screen.
2. Show 180 X 120 video on top left corner and banner on the bottom of 720 x 480 screen for few seconds.
3. Then the whole video at 180 x 120 returns back to 720 X 480 in proportional size increase. When the video attains 720 X 480 size, the banner will be hidden
Similarly for the second effects's video.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Never have tried this, but just mulling your goals over . . . I think you can accomplish what you want with Ulead's Cool 3D Production studio and Video Studio combined.
In 3DPS you can make a rectangular object and use a video as the object texture. Then, you can adjust the size of the rectangle object (and of course its texture adjusts, too, so you can get the "squeeze" effect you want) and move it across the screen as you see fit. You can add the banner either in this 3D project, or as an overlay in Video Studio. Output to avi (3DPS can output with transparent backgrounds if desired) and then load it into VS and finish.
Your banner might be a second 3DPS project if you want to get fancy and you can overlay that in Video Studio, or as suggested above, include it in the 3D project with the rectanlge and video texture.
As Brian said, this can be accomplished with some thought and experimentation. Using 3DPS is the easy way out
. You may want to download 3DPS and try it for 30 days free to see if you can accomplish what you want.
I'm not good with textures (never have tried much) but I was just able to apply a video texture in 3DPS to a 720x480 object within 10 minutes of messing with it (you have to stretch the texture across the object). Not too bad, really.
Good luck,
