Just upgraded from X4 to X5, and it seems something is wrong. When I click the Auto Music icon, all options are greyed out.
Okay, it's been over six months since I last used VSX4, but I don't remember having to do anything special to use Auto Music.
Computer is: Dell XPS 8300
Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz
DDR3 SDRAM 8 GB
Motherboard - Dell Inc. 0Y2MRG
Graphics - AMD Radeon HD 6450
OS - Windows 8 Pro
I have uninstalled/reinstalled several times, and have installed VSX5 SP1.
Any suggestions?

This may sound obvious, but I think there needs to be a project in the timeline before SmartSound will work. Did you have a project loaded?
I use SmartSound quite a bit -- it's quirky but I can usually get the results I want.

Yes, I had an otherwise completed project on the timeline. I ended up taking it over to X4 to finish it. I certainly can't recommend X5, at least until this problem is solved!

After clicking on the AUTO MUSIC icon, did you get the LIBRARY UPDATE screen? Since you need to install the SmartSound QuickTrack in order for you to use the Automusic feature of VS X5.

No, I did not get the Library Update prompt. I -DID- get that prompt when I was using VSX4, but NOT with VSX5.

Re: Auto Music greyed out
After four re-installs, I just today got a prompt to update and Auto-Sound finally works. Strange indeed.
