not enough space in working directory error

Post by ottersea »

I have been using Corel Video Studio Pro X4 for a while and never had this problem before. When I try to burn a clip to dvd I get the message:

The working folder C:\documents and settings\xxx\my documents\corelvideostudio\14.0 may not have enough space. We will help you clean up the converted cache file. You can also change the working folder in preferences.

The problem is I have already changed the working folder in preferences. When I click on ok to see if it will clean up the converted cache file nothing happens. Why is this coming up when I have the working folder in a different drive with well over 370 gig of space. How do I get this to work again. Another thing I was burning a clip and when it finished it came up with a error and did not work. That is when I tried to re burn the file and got this message. I have tried burning a different file and get the same message. As it is it is useless to me now. Help.

Aha! That's because Corel never tells you that there are two places where you set the working folder. The first is under Preferences. But the second is in the burning module. If you click on the first icon in the bottom left of the burning screen, you will see another entry for the working folder, and by default it is set to the original working folder. So you have to change it there too to your other disc. It's kind of klutzy that the two are not linked, though I suppose Corel's (and Ulead's) rationale was that the two are separate operations and could notionally have two separate working folders.
