I've been shooting with Canon DSLR's for years ie: 30D, 40D, 50D, 7D's and used numerous versions of PSP for as many years. Recently I purchased PSP X5 and ran into a strange issue I can't seem to resolve.
I recently purchased a just released Canon 6D and shoot in RAW. If I attempt to open a RAW file in PSP X5 it's pink. Yes a washed out pink. If I choose to open it it will stay pink. The only way I can process the shot is to convert it to tiff and open it as such. At this stage of the game I'm going to assume Corel hasn't got Canon's new RAW file for the 6D's in it's system. I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me they have run into the same issue or they have a fix because there was no point in upgrading my PSP if that's the case. My previous version worked fine for my needs.
Here's a screen shot of what I experience on a fresh install and unaltered instillation of PSP X5
But you should still have the camera manufacturers (Canon) CD with the ability to process Raw images. Some are recommending sticking with that rather than a third party interpretation of the processor.

Yes I have Canon's software. I as well as thousands of other people prefer not to use it because of it's very limited editing capabilities. It's people like us that keeps companies like Corel in business but if they can't keep up to date with the profiles there isn't any reason to update the program as I said in my op.

Thanks for the answer Dave. It's what I figured all along. I'm probably going to get try my money back and reinstall one of my previous versions which worked well for fine tuning my shots. I don't use a lot of the stuff these programs have to offer but for some silly reason I always feel the need to upgrade.
If you're shooting raw, then you may want to try AfterShot, since it handles raw files better than PSP X5. You can download the trial at http://pnoy.me/coreltrials

Thanks for the link. I'll take a peek at it this evening. It would still be nice if they would get PSP X5 updated which I'm sure will happen in due course. Canon just released the 6D so Corel hasn't had that much time yet. Then again I do remember I had the same issue in a different version and Corel didn't add a patch until the next version was released. I don't recall which Canon camera it was nor can I recall what ver of PSP it was.
It is not only Corel that has that problem. I remember when the Canon 5D mark II came out Photoshop could not handle the CR2 files and a friend had to wait til the next version of Photoshop came out (I think that was CS3 --> CS4). He did not ask for his money back from Adobe
At the same time Irfanview (free program) would open the file with no problems.
