x4 remove libraries

Post by Margek_corel »

How can I remove libraries without causing Load Stream Error. Should I delete all the contents first? I have created several libraries for my individual projects but whenever I have finished with one and try to remove (delete) it I get this error message and have to reset to factory defaults. This means losing the libraries I still want to use.

By default, if you install VS X4, you will have the default library.

To delete media clips from the Library
1. Select the clip to remove from the Library, then press [Delete].

Or, right-click the clip in the Library and select Delete.

This action only deletes the Library media clip entry in the program. You can still access the actual file from the path where it is saved.
2. When prompted, verify whether you want to delete the thumbnail from the Library.

You can also import your exported Library to restore media files and other library information. Click on Settings > Library Manager > Import Library and find the directory you specified.

Thanks for your information, much appreciated. Just one problem is actually removing the libraries I have created (when no longer needed). Every time I have attempted to do this I get that "Load from stream error" message and can only close VideoStudio by closing it through Windows Task Manager and then I have to rename the the 14.0 folder and force a reset to factory settings. Do you know if this is a problem with VideoStudio or am I doing something wrong? It is very frustrating. I think on one occasion I actually deleted all the thumbnails from the library and then removed the library and it worked. Is this my solution?

Hi Marge

Can you go to Settings—Library Manager—Reset Library.

If you select the thumbnails in the library do you receive any errors, try using the Photo and Video library pages.
If the sample thumbnails are ok then it would suggest it is the type of files you are adding to the library.

If you add VSP project files then these could cause problems should you change the files used within the actual project.

During editing do you use the process called nesting.
