AA MOD Converter

Post by markpritch »

Hi again guys
I am trying to put together a short video (about 4 mins) using 2.mov files and 2 .wmv files on my old ProX2. The programme does not seem to like the mix of format and, while it will play both types of clips seperately on the timeline when I set to 'clip' in the edit page, it shuts down when I try to play through the complete 'project'.
Is this because X2 cannot cope with mixed formats on the same timeline?

To overcome the problem I tried using the AA MOD Converter, which I obtained through this forum some while ago, and converted the .mov files to .wmv. Having done the conversion the newly created .wmv files play perfectly well using the windows media player but when I insert the video into X2 I get a window advising I am unable to open these files with the message 'File is Invalid' an error code 183.6000.107 is in brackets at the bottom left of the box.

Any ideas please re both queries.

I think this problem is different to my one earlier in the year as I then determined my Medion PC had some kind of bug and sent it back to the manufacturers for re-setting and X2 has worked ok since until now.
Many thanks
Mark

one thing is for certain and that is that you never obtained any AA mod converter through these forums - we have never sold or given away anything so you could not of obtained it from here. Possibly another user may of recommended it and you followed a link to obtain it ???.

I can't say that I have ever had problems when using more than one format in the timeline so it may not be the problem but as regards to your conversion problem it sounds as though the AA converter is not producing a file which is compatible with VideoStudio - have you tried using VideoStudio itself to convert the .mov to .wmv

Hi Brian
You are quite correct. I got it via a link from another user. Just tried to get it again but seems no longer available. Just wonder whether mine got corrupted when I had the earlier bug trouble.
I realise I can do both of these formats seperately on the timeline, then produce an Mpeg of each and put them back on again to edit. Is that what you are referring to when you say use VS to convert or are you aware of a seperate converter within the programme?
Many thanks
Mark

when I wrote it I was actually thinking of converting the .mov files to wmv and working with all wmv - but there is no reason at all why you shouldn't convert both to mpeg and do it that way.
