VideoStudio PRO X5 and DXTORY AVI Sound Problem

Post by Quillraven »

Hi,

i'm using dxtory to record some gameplay videos. dxtory creates an avi file which includes the video + 2 soundstreams for the ingame sound and the microphone. when i import such a file to videostudio pro i get a very loud "signal noise" instead of the ingame sound + microphone.

when i convert the avi file with the avimux tool of dxtory to convert the audio codec to PCM it works with videostudio without any problem.

is there a way to fix that issue? and why do i not get two "audio streams" when i "divide video from audio" with videostudio? shouldn't i get one microphone stream and one "ingame"soundstream?

here are two files, so you can test it for yourself:
here is the original version: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6414966/original.avi you can play it with media player classic for example, where you can see, that you can select two different audio streams. this version has the "signal noise" with videostudio
and here is the mux version: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6414966/mux.avi this version works with videostudio

best regards
simon

so i investigated a little more. it seems that i can put the problem simple:

if you have a dvd for example with 2 different audio streams - one for english language and one for german language. is it possible to extract the audio from the video for the german audio stream and english audiostream each in a seperate stream?

i didn't find anything yet ... :(

I am a very long time user of VideoStudio and I have never found a way to separate audio streams in VideoStudio - I do not think it can be done.

I am sure there are other programs that will do it, but the one I use is Video ReDo, which when I bought it several years ago cost a little under US$50...
