Cannot draw a straight line in PSP 7

Hello all, I hope I'm posting this in the right spot. I've been using PSP 7 for many years and over the last year or so I can't seem to get a straight line to show up using the Draw Tool (I think the kids may have messed with a setting).

In the Tool Options I select Single Line, a width of 4, solid line and anti-alias. Create as vector and close path are left unchecked.

The problem is that whether I use my left or right mouse button to drag the line, the line does not show up, it just disappears (I'm using colors different from the background, of course). I've googled this and cannot find anything, and I have no idea what setting might be affecting it. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Hi hartpaul - thank you for your willingness to help! Several hours after I submitted the topic (while it was waiting for approval) my husband figured out the problem. The "Styles" boxes underneath the color palette had been set to "Null." He clicked them both to Solid and voila, a working straight line!
