I've just reinstalled videostudio pro X3 on my Windows 8 machine. All seems to have gone well but I can't re-register it. I've checked the serial number on my account but when I try and put it in it says it's invalid before I even have the chance to enter it.
Any ideas welcome plus suggestions as to whether I'm wasting my time trying to get it to work
Cheers

Re: Video Studio X3 and Windows 8
I am surprised you have got so far. According to a Corel note X4 is not compatable with Windows 8 let alone X3.
This is the problem with earlier versions as I found when I upgraded from XP to 7. They expect us to upgrade all our software to match the latest operating system. I try and work the other way and that is upgrade the operating system when it will not run the software I want to use. I stuck with XP until I needed to use an operating system that would address greater volumes of memory.
I don't mind being left behind as long as the software produces the results I want but, after 7 years of Xp and outdated programs, I moved to a new PC, new processor and Win 7. I was told that Win 8 is more suited to touchscreen and tablet and (by my dealer) not to touch it with a bargepole!!! Perhaps he had a point?

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Not sure why people dislike 8. I jumped from XP and so far I'm very impressed especially with the speed of loading. However I did put an SSD in at the same time so it could be that that's made the big improvement. It boots in 7 seconds and loads virtually everything instantly. Cheers

Terfyn is correct VS X3 is not compatible with Windows 8, as a work around you may want to try running VS x4 in compatibility mode and see if this fixes the problem.Will_cain wrote:I've just reinstalled videostudio pro X3 on my Windows 8 machine. Since VS X5 (latest version) has a 30 free trial, you may want to try it out for a spin to see how it works for you. You can go to http://pnoy.me/coreltrials to download the free trial.
