Printer Issues
I have a Kodak Hero 9.1.
Using paint shop X5.
When I send it to the printer the printer spooler opens then closes and nothing prints.
All other software I have is able to print fine.
I have the latest print drvers. Just installed PSP X5.
Thanks

Re: Printer Issues
Can you tell me if you have Kodak setup as your default printer? This usually happens to me when I changes printer then not changing the default printer to the new one.
You can do that by going to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > right click on the printer that you are using the select "Set as default printer". Then reopen PSP X5 for the new changes to take effect in the software.

Re: Printer Issues
I have the same problem as Windancer87. My Kodak ESP 3.2 printer will not print photos from Corel Paintshop Pro X 5. The spooling message is displayed for a few seconds and then disappears. The same problem persists in both the Wi-Fi and USB connection types. I have reinstalled the drivers but the problem persists. My OS is Windows 8. There are no problems printing photos from other programs with the Kodak, they print just fine. I tried my old Canon Printer and it prints out photos from Corel Paintshop Pro X 5 without problems. So, this seems to be a Kodak driver problem not Paintshop Pro X 5 or Windows 8. The Kodak support team tried to be helpful but do not seem to have a fix which is a bit strange as photo printing is their main selling point!

Re: Printer Issues
Can I join the No Print on Kodak Printers club please?
ESP3.2 prints from everywhere except PSP X5. Using W7 Home Premium x64
I know others have suggested this is a Kodak fault, yet it cannot be as the printer prints from the web, word, outlook etc etc etc.
Like everyone else, the printer spools then sends the picture, the printer starts and the picture vanishes.
My thoughts are
1. There is a conflict between PSP Xn and the Kodak Drivers
2. As the printer works normally and Kodak say there is no problem with the drivers, it is the software that is at fault.
Could Corel do something about this please?????
otherwise I'll be spending more of my well earned wages on Software that works....

Re: Printer Issues
In a footnote to my above post.
Amazon are getting my PSP Pro X5 back.
It was a simple decision, work through all X5's printer settings. Set the Kodak Home Center to recognise the .exe file. Change every setting on the printer (properties & preferences). Still the same issue. Just to double check, d/l PSE11 trial and printed successfully, straight from the download.
PSP X5 maybe good & the help files perfect, but unless you can print from the program, then it is worthless. Why spend £40/50/60 and have to go to windows explorer to print, just because you use a Kodak printer?

Re: Printer Issues
Hi All. This morning I had a reply from Corel regarding the Kodak printer issues.
Thank you for contacting Corel Customer Support.
This issue occurs because the printer was recognized by the program or the Print Spooler is disabled on your system services.
To check if the Print Spooler is disabled:
1. Click Start, type "Services.msc" in the Start Search box then press Enter.
2. In the Services list, locate "Printer Spooler" then double-click on it.
3. If the spooler is disabled, enable it by clicking Startup Type drop-list and choosing "Automatic".
4. Click Apply then OK.
If it still doesn't work, you can try this workaround:
1. Click Start, type "services.msc" in the Start Search box then press Enter.
2. In the Services list, locate "Printer Spooler" then double-click on it.
3. Click "Stop" button then OK.
4. Click Start again, in the start search box type "%WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers" then press enter.
5. Select all the files in that folder then delete all of them 6. Click Start, type "Services.msc" in the Start Search box then press Enter.
7. Locate "Printer Spooler" from the list then double-click it.
8. Click the Startup Type drop-list then choose "Automatic"
9. Click Apply then OK.
Alternatively, try installing your printer driver as there are instances that the program does not recognize printers especially if it has been installed prior to installing the program.
If you have returned the product to Amazon already, it will surely be reported to us and its serial number will be deactivated.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions.
As I have run out of black ink could one of you see whether it works, I doubt the first work around will work as I was able to print from other products. The second work around I have done this morning and just run it using PSP X5 and I get the same original result as in the OP & no message about the printer being without black ink. Running PSE11 I get the message that the printer has no black ink. So that to me confirms the 2nd work around does not work.
& the third, is obviously Corels get out of jail card.....

Irfanview can have multiple images on a contact sheet which can be printed.hathaway34 said

1. Double click a jpg image (in a folder of images and assuming jpgs are associated with irfanview) OR open an image from a folder in Irfanview.
2. File> Thumbnails
this will give you thumbnails from which you can choose.
3. Select your thumbnails - hold control key down while selecting more than one. If you want a particular order rename the files with numbered order 01 in front of first image 02 in front of second image etc.
4. File> Create Contact Sheet from Selected Files.
5. A Create Contact Dialog box will appear. To do a single sheet of image on A4 paper note the three sections marked on the following image.

(1,) set the image size in pixels or inches or cm (I use pixels all the time).
(2.) Decide on a single image (You can also do a number of sheets at once and have them saved for later printing.)
(3.) The part where you can choose how many images appear on the sheet 1 x 2 will give two landscape images one on top of the other. 2 x 2 is good for fitting 4 portrait images to a page. 2 x 3 is great for 6 landscape images to a page.
6. Click Create and soon you will have a composite image ready for printing.

I have used PSP8, X2, X3, X4 and X5 and I don't think I have ever used any version to print an image preferring the versatility of Irfanview. In the print options you also have the choice of stretching to fit page, print according to Dpi count or set up a custon value. That and also being able to offset the images on the page in x and y directions is a great help.

Re: Printer Issues
@ to all with this printing issue (reaches spooler but nothing happens)
I just gave it a test. My first thought was that the print job might be empty, but I have no problems printing my sample picture. I used a bigger one with 6 MB picture to get the entry in "See what's printing". PSPX5 sends the job to the spooler, the spooler forwards this to the printer. Spooler is Windows matter. As long as the picture arrives there, then it's Windows.

@sidknee
What makes a Kodak printer different?
Let me mention that I had last week a customer with exact the same problem (X4), and he also had a Kodak printer. But he also said, it had always worked for more than a year, but suddenly it doesn't.

if it was a printer or windows issue it would effect other programs
