VS X4 installation problem with Win 7
I bought a new computer (Dell E5520 laptop with Windows 7) and transfered all my programs/data; Video Studio ProX4 wouldn't work - would not capture video. I un-installed the program. When I try to install VS ProX4 on my new computer from the disc I get a small blank window and a flashing diaglogue box pops up so quickly I can't read it. I have run virus scans and removed all identified threats. I am running a Intel Core i5, have 4GB Ram and 500GB disk. Installation and operations were great on my old system running XP. Any ideas?

My computer has a similar spec to yours (see side panel) and I am running VSx5 without problem. How are you capturing the Video? Firewire or the USB/SD card route.
My dealer had a problem of getting the computer to see Firewire (in my case the IEEE1394 ports were added via a card) and it was a matter of getting the right drivers installed. I now have both a HDV camera and a newer SD card based HD camera, both capture systems work OK.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

First let's make sure that all files of the old installation is removed including the registry - http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... dio-Pro-X4
then install the program using a new windows user profile with admin rights, here's the steps on how to create a new Windows user profile - http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... er-profile
Then just login to that new user and install VS X4. Since it's an Admin the program should be available when you switch to your regular user name.
