VS5 Extending the end of an animated title
I know how to change the run time of the entire animated title clip, but how can I extend the end of the finished animation so that just the completed titles viewing time is extended? VS pro X5. Titles

Double click on the title block in the timeline and the options panel will open - but at the same time the scrubber bar immediately under the preview window will change and show a part blue bar with two orange tabs under it - sliding those orange tabs left or right using your mouse cursor will alter the duration of animation and the timing of it

Re: VS5 Extending the end of an animated title
I interpreted David's question to relate to extending the still letters at the end of the animation, so the full title stays on screen longer instead of fading out or disappearing rapidly. He says he knows how to extend the animation itself. But the only way I can think of is to do a screen grab of the final letters at the very end, and insert that without transition at the end of the title.
But maybe David can explain a little further...

Re: VS5 Extending the end of an animated title
Thank you Brian and Ken for your help. Ken, your interpretation is correct. After the animation completes spelling out my title one letter at a time it just ends too soon for me, it does not leave the completed title up as long as I would like. I don't want to slow the entire animation down any further, just hold the still results for a few seconds longer.

Hi
right click title clip and make a copy, place adjacent to the first clip, change the animation of new clip to maybe fade out.

Re: VS5 Extending the end of an animated title
Kens suggestion has worked for me. I did a screen capture of the end of the title animation and inserted it after the animation in the timeline. I now have total control over how long I want the finished animation to remain on screen displaying my title. Now if I can just figure out how to get it to fade out as lata has suggested. I love the challenge of new software but sheesh, sometimes.........Glad you guys are here to help. Thanks again all.

Ok
So I assume you have an image of your text placed in the overlay track, this of course includes the background video/clip?
Double click the image clip to open the Options panel, attributes tab, use the fade ramps below the Direction and Styles panel.
Adjust the Pause Durations with the Blue Bar below the preview screen.
-------------------------
You could also try using a Crossfade Fade at the end of the image, but then you will need a transparent clip to X-fade to.

Re: VS5 Extending the end of an animated title
Thanks Trevor. Since I dont have the videos to edid yet, (my project is to convert and edit a bunch of old 8mm and Im waiting on hardware) I was learning my way around the software. I made the mistake of droping the title animation and screen capture into the video track where the fade option is not available. After moving them to to proper track I was able to follow your advice with perfect results. David.

Re: VS5 Extending the end of an animated title
Your main video file is normally in the top track, if this is empty I would advise you to place a sample there so the title has something to play against.
If you get my drift. Effects may look a little different.
