Does anyone know how to get X5 to use a disk drive other than C:/
I have other drives but they don't show up in File>Preferences>General Program Preferences>Display and Caching
PaintShopPro X5 Scratch Disk

Are you trying to use an external drive? X5 displays both my C & D drives but not my external hard drive.

External Drive - perplexed since Painter 12 and Elements 10 are quite happy to use itKathy_9 wrote:Are you trying to use an external drive? X5 displays both my C & D drives but not my external hard drive.

Re: PaintShopPro X5 Scratch Disk
PSP will be more than happy to use an external drive if you're going through an e-Sata or Firewire line.
The developers for PSP thought that a USB line would be too slow to work as a proper scratch disk and do not list USB connected external harddrives. Of course it didn't seem to occur to them that using the same harddrive you are using Windows on is a lot slower because of the constant read-write processes needed for normal operations on top of PSP.

Re: PaintShopPro X5 Scratch Disk
My sentiments exactly. So why do the other programs do it? Do we need to go to SSD? It wasn't until I was processing a very large file (and feeling as though I was waiting for paint to dry) that I started to ask the question.LeviFiction wrote:PSP will be more than happy to use an external drive if you're going through an e-Sata or Firewire line.
