No Sound on Standalone Player

Post by amarelo »

I everyone ! Can some one help me on this ?

This happens to me when I creat a DVD-Video or a DVD-Slideshow, in both situations:

When I creat a DVD folder on my hard disk, and play the DVD (For example with Ulead DVD Player 2.0) work really fine, the menu background picture fit in the screen really good and the sound its perfect...

But after I burn the same folder (Video_TS and Audio_TS, for example with Nero has DVD-Video) when i play the DVD disc, in my standalone player (I've a Phillips DVP630 that read all kind of DVD's, dvd-r, dvd-rw, divx, etc) in the living room, the menu background do not fits at the screen and i've no sound at all ?

The same happens if I burn my project directly from Ulead Movie Factory with the option "Record to disc". I note also that the folder Audio_TS its allways empty after Ulead Movie Factory creats the folder.

Can someone help me ? Menu background dont fits on TV and no sound at all.

PS - Sorry my bad english.

what type of audio are you using on your disc? and how is your dvd player hooked up for sound? certain combinations will prevent you from hearing sound.

Also, the menu not fully showing up -- I suspect that could be just "overscan" -- about 10% around the edges of what you see on your computer will not be viewable on a TV (the percentage can vary from TV to TV).

The type of audio that I use was *.mp3 and *.wav...

The DVD player with other DVD discs works fine... I've my DVD player connected to a stereo Hi-Fi trough a SCART cable. That way I have sound from TV, VCR, DVD, PS2 all by the stereo Hi-Fi...

The problem just happens with the DVD that I creat in Ulead Movie Factory... strange. But in the PC i've perfect sound...

Maybe some burning options i've wrong ? Have I to format the DVD disc in UDF Format after I burn my project ?

Its really strange... because in PC its all ok... on DVD do not works the sound...

For the sound you encoded on the DVD, did you do PCM, LPCM, or mpeg audio?

Also, dumb question, but we had a similiar case earlier this month on this forum, do you get sound on this DVD player when playing other discs? That guy did not have his DVD player hooked up to the stereo.

what type of audio did you put on the final disc (you might have used .mp3 and .wav files, but depending on your project settings, some of your audio files would be converted -- espeically the .mp3's because they are non-dvd compliant).

Does your dvd player have regular rca out audio connections? If so, try connecting them directly to rca audio-in on your tv (don't go through that adapter or sound system) just to see if it's the scart adapter or anything in between the dvd player and the final output...
