I just bought SONY DVD-Cam
Sony software allow me to save the file into
MPEG-2 Format in my Local HDD
Call it: Test.MPG
Video & Audio is fine when I playback with Media Player 10
and Power DVD.
I use VS 8.0 and plan to burn the project to VCD
I Insert Video and Click the Preview, Video OK. But No SOUND
Just to make sure VS 8.0 is OK, I Insert MPEG-1 File.
Both Video & Audio OK.
Any one can help
Audio Missing in MPEG2

Does Test.mpg have Dolby Digital (AC3) audio?
If so, VS8 needs a plugin in order to support AC3 audio (I'm not sure if it decodes, but it's suppose to encode -- I don't have VS8, so not really sure about that).
You might have to export the audio in another format (pcm .wav or something).
VideoStduio 9 (Full version) support AC3 audio

ositek, I also have a Sony DVD cam and VS8. The cam is recording sound in AC-3 (Dolby). The reason you can't hear anything is because VS8 does not support Dolby for decoding or encoding without the AC-3 plugin. Here's the bad news, the plugin seems to have been removed from the Ulead site so you can't even buy it if you wanted to.
VS9 supports AC-3 as a standard feature so maybe you might want to upgrade to that.
Check the Ulead site for their upgrade policies.
It gets worse! If your new cam records 5:1 Dolby surround then you will lose that and go down to 2 channel stereo if you want to work with VS8 or 9.
