RotoPen Icons

Post by corsican26 »

I recently purchased VSP Ultimate and have been trying to use one of the FX additions, RotoPen. Clearly, there must be a way to add a transparent icon but I have tried every file format I know that support transparency without success. Can somebody tell me what steps to take to be able to use my own icon with a transparent background? I saw on an earlier thread someone said use GIF Movie Gear, but that also did not work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
C

Others are having the same problem, especially if the transparent TIFF or PNG is made with a Corel product such as PaintShop Pro or PhotoPaint. But it appears you can make them in some other non-Corel products. See this thread: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 15#p259715

As far as we can ascertain at the moment the only format that seems to work are transparent tiffs - you should have a read of this topic :-

It sure worked. Once I saved a file in Photoshop the transparency worked as it should. Thanks for the advice, I spent far too much time tinkering with PaintShopPro to no avail.

Thanks to both of you for the advice - it sure saved me a lot of time. It seems a shame that a Corel product should have to rely on files created by an Adobe product to work correctly. Maybe Corel needs to look at RotoPen and figure out why their PNG or TIFF files won't work.

Thanks again for the help.
