Sony IP55e Micromv - Capture Problems with Firewire

Post by datasafe »

Hi all
First post here, hope I'm not duplicating!

I have a Sony IP55e Micromv Camcorder. I downloaded DVD Workshop, installed and connected my Sony IP55e via its firewire i-link connection.

When I start a New Project and then select capture, sometimes it works, sometimes it just shows the egg timer continually (ctrl+Alt+Del) is the only solution! Sometimes it records in part but then just stops.

So, lots of problems I've been unable to resolve.

I have a fast computer with 100's of gigs of storage space free and 1.5Gig RAM.

I've yet to find a program that will work with this camera and its micromv format :(

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure of the Workshop options, (not at that PC at the moment) but try downloading the trial of media studio, I know the capture module has a micromv device control option.

DVDWS2 full has a capture plugin support for MicroMV. You can select the MMV capture plugin and MMV device control....

im not sure if trial versions include MMV plugins. check the comparison for WS2 and WSExpress:
