Bug between main an feather area

Post by binoyte »

Do I misunderstand something or is this a bug ?
The feather area of a region should begin at the main area limit (solid line) and stop at the feather limit (dot line).

Here is what I get, If I put the exposure slider to -3, feather is set to 300 (not so big)
Whatever it is circle, polygon or curve region.

Despairing software :( :( :( I'm really sick of it

I think it appears only with negative exposure. I don't see something like this with saturation, tint etc...

Not sure if you already did this but have you updated your aftershot?

You can download it here http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... id=4300004 - if not.

It was there from the very first public ASP version, and I have reported it through the monkey. I am sick of this software, too. If there will be no miracle "soon", I will jump ship. So sorry for bibble/ASP calcification.

Almost no IQ bugs were solved so far. Demosaicing quality is stagnating at best, despite all the competition is running fast. Capture one is miraclous on details level, HR is fantastic, too. Excellent results are almost instant, just a few sliders away. How terribly different against all the old Bibble/ASP fiddling with curves, Bez plugin, different denoise, very careful sharpening with more different plugins... And all that deliver just mediocre results on pixel level against latest capture one.
So sad to see dying such excellent workflow concept, because of insufficient image quality. Corel, wake up!!!

Regards.

former Bibble lover.

By the way, I think, it is just because of design change decision, sacrificing last good aspects of quality and usefulness just for speed of light. Useless milliseconds race, nobody cares of.

No, I am sure Bibble is different. In Bibble feathering starts only outside the region, everywhere inside there is full opacity. That was the reason I was so disappointed with the changes.

for a cheap laugh replace at your free will:

"ASP" with "KeithR"
"commecial converter" (sic!) with "person"
"image" with "human"

haters gonna hate, bitchers gonna *** and KeithR? he will do all of the above and still be a grumpy, unhappy person that needs to vent on the internets. it seems it it never occured to him that while a little destruction now and then is absolutely neccessary, the most progress in this world is done by construction. and if you dont have anything constructive to say you should just drop out of a project and move on with live.
Bibble since 2004. Aftershot until 2020. From then on darktable.

Leave the poor guy alone ... he gets off on ranting, rather than just going to use the software he rates as better.
Hidden among the rants are useful comments that Corel should take note of - if he reins in a bit, people will listen more.
