How to separate images in a collage

Post by zehavi »

Hello,
I have stared to create a collage, after inserting some of the images, I saved the project and closed the program (x3).
When I opened again the callage, all the inserted images was merged together and I can move only all of them together.
Could you please let me know how can I separate the images so I will be able to move each of them separately in order to insert more images and change the order of them in the collage.
Thank you,
Abraham

Next time you might want to save in a PSPImage format if you intend to manipulate the collage later on.

Ouch. Well hopefully none of the images were overlapping because if they were those portions of the image are gone for good.

To place individual areas of an image onto separate layers you can use selections.

Create a selection using any of the selection tools, then from the layers palette right-click on the layer and select "Promote Selection to layer" it will copy the selected area onto its own layer that you can manipulate.

PSPImage is the file type you want if you wish to retain layers and other such information.

All other image types only support a single layer and that is why you are getting that message.

You should click on the SAVE AS... icon then make sure that the SAVE AS TYPE: box is set as PSPIMAGE (*.pspimage, *.psp, *.pspbrush, *.pspframe, *.pspshape, *.psptube, *.tub).
