I have been trying to edit images with Photo Pro RGB embedded and then print them. I set the color working space for PPRGB, import the file with PPRGB embedded, edit, then send to my Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mk II printer using PSP to manage color with an OEM or custom printer profile. Although the display image looks perfect, prints are extremely dark, unsaturated, and brassy metallic looking, especially Caucasian portraits. The same 16-bit TIFF image file when sRGB is embedded and the color working space is set to sRGB print perfectly. Similarly, when I set the CWS to PPRGB and select the first radio button, "Use Embedded Profiles", then open an sRGB embedded file, I get a message saying the file was coverted to the existing workspace but I see an appropriate appearance on the display UNTIL I close the file. Then if I select Yes to the question about do I want to save workspace changes to the file, the thumbnail is converted to the same appearance as the prints I was describing before. Whe I reopen it, it looks awful. If I reopen the same file over and over again, close immediately and save changes, the appearance keeps getting worse and worse, darker and darker, and less and less saturated. Wierd.
What is going on with PPRGB handling in PSP? How can I print properly from PPRGB embedded files and the PPRGB workspace in PSP?
Thanks,
Robert
