VS 10 won't load MTS files from computer

I first tried capturing the video from a Sony camcorder but VS keeps freezng up on "change field order".
So then I just downloaded the files to my computer and tried to load them that way. But the program does not see MTS files in the folder.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I think you will find that VS 10 came out before .mts emerged as a format. VS 11+ was really the first version to deal with high def formats...

It would appear the only sensible suggestion is to upgrade to version X5 (15) - there seems to be some good deals going on VS at the moment - unfortunately though VS 10 is not valid for the reduced price upgrade version.

It looks like the only good solution is for me to get the latest version of Video Studio. Another plus will be that I could then use it on my Windows 7 computer. I had to use VS10 on my old XP computer.

@ AlexM yes that's correct, you can use VS X5 on Windows 7 and even on new Windows 8. But I would recommend that you download the trial first, to see how it works out for you.
