Video Studio and Adobe Premiere

Post by Jim Dodds »

I am concerned with conflicts between Video Studio and Adobe Premiere as I have both, and now Adobe Premiere crashes every time I start it up. I saw something somewhere about moving certain files or copying certain files, but now I can't find it. Any help?

Not sure on that one, I don't use Premiere. One thing though, some of the dll's etc. are sure to be used by both but not shared. I would uninstall the problem one completely, including all relevant registry links and temp files, and after a reboot install again into a different location on your HDD.

I have VS 9, Adobe Premiere 1.5, Premiere Elements, and Vegas Video 6 all on the same computer (and drive) and all work flawlessly. But that is not to say that things might be different on another computer. As Heinz-Oz says, do a complete reinstall of Premiere and see what happens. I have noted, for instance, that both the Adobe and Sony (Vegas) products all share a file PRM.DLL and will not work unless a copy of that file is in each program's main directory. Check to see if you can find it on your computer and if so, copy it to the Premiere directory (if it is not already there!).
