Create an image from 2 imported images

Post by Ken Veal »

PSPro X. Can any one advise me on the easiest way to compose an image comprised of 2 imported pictures.I want to have an image made up from 2 jpeg photos and have the two alongside each other, ie one of the bride on the left side and one of the groom taking up the other half of the finished image on the right side.

1. Create a new, empty image using your desired finished size.
2. Open the bride's photo.
3. Copy the bride's photo to the Clipboard.
4. Switch to your empty image and use Edit...Paste as new layer. Your bride's photo will be on it's own layer.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 for the groom's photo.
6. Move and re-size the two photos as required.

Thanks for the reply, but I think I will need some more guidance.I get as far as having a transparent background for the images
then get into all sorts of trouble after pasting a new image. What I am am after is a DVD label image to print directly on a disc
and a picture of the same subject matter of about 9in H + 6 in W. I would be most grateful to get a detailed workflow for this .I am not able to resize and move the images so that they are of equal size for the finished product.

Is this the type of thing you are after for your DVD disk?

Highlight the imported image in the Layers panel, then choose the Pick tool. The image (in the main editing window) will have boxes on its perimeter that you can drag to resize; dragging the center box will re-position the image.

See the Help file for more details about moving and re-sizing images on layers.

1. Prepare a CD blank . I measured a CD as 4.7 inches and at 300 dpi that gives a minimum of 1410 pixels diameter. I set up a blank at 1800 pixels square to be sure. I prepared the images to be 800 pixels on the longest side .
Image

2. Flood fill the disk blank with a colour , gradient or pattern .
Image

3. Add text and locate it.
Image
Then merge the text.

4. Create three blank transparent raster layers (or one for each image to be added to the disk label)
Image

5. Select one of the blank layers, then using the clone tool right click the first image to be cloned.
Clone each image with Aligned box ticked and opacity about 60 % as you do a second stroke the colour intensity increases softening at the edges.
Repeat with each image layer.
Image
Use the move tool to relocate the images or the Pick tool to do last size changes.
Merge all images. .

Transparent selected.
Image 1 23 % (Raster 1) shows in workspace
File-open-browse-in open box-select brides pic-open
Image shows-9% jpg -right click on it-copy
Right click workspace-paste as new image

What size is your bride image in pixels. Sounds like it might be larger than the 1800 x 1800 pixel canvas you have.
You may need to resize your bride image so that it will fit within the 1800 x 1800 pixel canvas.
