Hello dear ASP users,
I don't understand what happened to my copy of ASP. When I navigate through my photos I first see a bland, raw version of my raw file and then a second later it turns all reddish and the highlights are all messed up, like some magician inside my computer turned the highlight slider way up so that I see pink in the clouds and the photo looks darker. It's driving me up the wall!!!!!
I looked at the color profile and I even changed it to the default setting with no effect. I have a calibrated monitor ICC profile and I use that instead. I checked to see if the softproofing button is pressed: it isn't. I also looked at the default settings and chose the default ones. Still no change. I also pushed the reset default files -- no change. Actually there was no resetting to defaults at all. That didn't do anything.
I would really appreciate your help.
Cheers

Re: Default colors all messed up
Looks like you saved some defaults that mess up your images.wiggalicious wrote:I don't understand what happened to my copy of ASP. Leave the image color profile alone. Just use the ICC profiled setting without a specific setting, so it picks up the default.I looked at the color profile and I even changed it to the default setting with no effect.
Yuck. Never ever use a monitor profile for an image.I have a calibrated monitor ICC profile and I use that instead.
Did you move the defaults away?I also looked at the default settings and chose the default ones. Still no change. I also pushed the reset default files -- no change.
Can you post an XMP for one of the images?
cheers

Re: Default colors all messed up
What I meant to say is that I changed the monitor profile to the one I got from dispcalgui after calibration. I actually read it in your ASG ebook -- great book btw!Leave the image color profile alone. Just use the ICC profiled setting without a specific setting, so it picks up the default.
Anyway, here is the xmp file for one of the images I edited. I also attached it.

Re: Default colors all messed up
Have you resolved your problem yet?
I don't think it has anything to do with color profiles. I suspect you have switched on the clipped higlight warning by mistake. Bottom right hand of screen there is a yellow triangle which is a toggle switch for the highlight warning. Try clicking that and see if your nasty colours in the highlight areas disappears.
