PSP X3 and Windows 8

Post by nsrush83 »

I just got a computer with Windows 8 and everytime I try to start my PSP program, while the loading screen is still on, it says the program has stopped responding. I know it did it on my old computer too and there was a file I had to delete..but I cant remember which file or how to find it in Windows 8...

If you don't know which file it is, we certainly wouldn't know.

Try holding the shift key when opening PSP which restores to factory default, it may get rid of this problem. It could be looking for files you have removed.

Another thing, PSP X3 is not compatible with Win 8, which explains your problem.

I had to keep Mediacataloger.exe from starting to get it to run properly on Vista and Win7, but the 2nd or 3rd patch should fix that. Speaking of patches you'll want to install all of them manually from Corel's website (if they will even run on Win8), IN ORDER and install all of them.

When I had PSP do the install of the patch it only installed the latest one (#4 at the time), and it gave the program a lot of issues. I had to eventually reinstall and install every single patch manually, in order, all of them, not just the last one, and I didn't let the program do it.

That's good to hear. I forget what exactly just wouldn't work right. It may not be anything that you use or come across. I do remember it was before the last patch, so maybe the final patch is all that's needed. But if you have issues in the future keep this in mind.
