I was working on a very HI-res image when Paint Shop Pro X4 just quit. It just went away, no errors, nothing.
I can rescan the image, but it was a very large image and took lots of disk space.
Is this scanned in image still on my hard drive? If it is where do I find it, so I can delete it?
Thanks!

It doesn't go anywhere if it hasn't been saved first.raweller wrote:I was working on a very HI-res image when Paint Shop Pro X4 just quit. It just went away, no errors, nothing.

Try scanning it at a lower resolution.

PSP X4 still uses the scanning software that will be installed by your scanner. The answer will depend if your scanner software have the feature to backup unsaved scanned images... if not then just refer to what Joelle said.

As well if you have scanned the image in ("I was working on a very HI-res image ") then save the image first brefore any work is done and do regular saves as you work.
Large image is a vague term. Is it close to the limits of PSP X4 (10000 pixels) . The more information you provide with a problem the more precise the answers may be to help you solve it.
Does the program work with smaller scans?

Re: Where does a scanned in image go when program crashes
I'm not trying to solve the problem with PaintShop Pro. I simply decreased the resolution of the scan and that took care of it.
What I wanted was to make sure that the scanned in data from the crash was not left some unknown place on my hard drive using up a couple of gigabytes space.
It was an image that I needed as much resolution as I could get, so I was pushing it to the max and working my way down.
I just don't want to waste a couple gigabytes of space if the scanned image from the crash is stored in some kid of a scratch file somewhere.

Re: Where does a scanned in image go when program crashes
Can you not run a time based search of your computer looking for all files modified or generated around the time you did the scan - then look for a file you do not recognise at the time of the incident - usually works for me when I don't know where a file has gone.
