If you are - can you please test this for me:
- Open two images into the Edit workspace.
- Switch between the two images by clicking on the tabs.
(I'm using PSP X5, but I also tried X4 and it hangs in the same way as well).

Yes, I installed PSP X4 on a HP Pavilion DM1, so far no problem in using the program.AdrianW wrote:Is anyone else running Paint Shop Pro on Windows 8?

Does it work for you? Performing the above steps for me always causes PSP to freeze.
- Open two images into the Edit workspace.
- Switch between the two images by clicking on the tabs.

Windows 8 Pro on a desktop.Abiel Corel NA wrote: Is your device a tablet or notebook? What version of Windows 8 are you using?
Yes, I've done multiple clean installs.nhlisa wrote: Did you keep your programs when you upgraded or did you do a clean install?

And anyone could upgrade without need to make a clear upgrade and still have his (or her) Paint Shop Pro 5 working ok?

Yesterday, I ran the new Windows Refresh process that is part of Windows 8. It cleans out everything, but keeps all your files and settings. I had to install all my programs again (but I was expecting that). So, I installed PSP first, and it still has the problem.
That's three of you so far that aren't having problems - I'm not sure whether that's good or not. I guess I'm less likely to get a fix if it's only me having the issue. It must be something with my specific setup - very annoying.

This is a good question and should be put to the Corel PSP development team. PSPX5 and all the inclusion that people paid extra for should work on Win8.
Recently I tried running X5 in a different user account (same machine, same install of PSP X5) and I had no freezes at all. So, I'm guessing something about my profile was messed up. Even though I performed complete uninstalls and reinstalls, the app would still freeze.josephlin wrote:Hi Sir, this is PM of PaintShop Pro. Basically we cannot duplicate your problem here as other user replied. May I have your help to follow up with attached doc to generate Crash Dump back to us? Please install PSPX5, update to SP1 and then start this flow. Before you send this crash dump to us, please do not forget to add quick description for reference. Thx.

I made the upgrade, and it works without problems.josephlin wrote:Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0 can work well with WIN8 is for sure. The reason is that Corel can bundle it with Ultimate pack. I think you don't need to worry about the case.![]()
