I recently burned a DVD video with Video Studio Pro X5, and encountered a very brief, but audible "popping" sound in the audio track (the video plays just fine)...
The video footage was originally shot in FlipVideo MPEG-4 and converted with TEnCoder, so I could import it OK into VS Pro X5...here are the output parameters for that footage converted by TEncoder:
Video:
Codec Xvid
Bitrate 2000
Common Sizes 640:480
FPS 30
Aspect Ratio 4/3
Audio:
Codec MP3
Bitrate 128 Kbps
Channels 2
Srate 44100
Container AVI
Encoder Mencoder
VS Pro X5 DVD Burning Output:
NTSC drop frame 29.97 fps
MPEG 24 bits / 720 x 480
Upper Field first
[DVD-NTSC] 16:9
Video Data rate Variable [Max 8000 Kbps]
LPCM Audio 40000 Hz Stereo
Does this data give any clue as to the "popping" sound in the audio track?

When you test or preview the project on VS X5, do you hear the "popping" sound? Does it happen to all the DVD that you created?
Can you try creating an mpeg compatible file first for your project then use the created video file to burn your DVD, check if the same thing happens.
Also... did you update all the codec on your computer, specially the xvid? If not...
Here are some of the codecs that you may want to install.

Re: Brief "Pop" in VS Pro X5 DVD Audio Track
Hi
It may be associated with the conversions you are using.
The final video is NTSC DVD so why convert original to Xvid?
In addition the Xvid shows as 4:3 whereas the NTSC 16:9
The audio for xvid is using mp3, this format can cause problems.
What problems are you having in using the original Mpeg4 video files?
What are the properties of the original video file?
