UPDATE
Been spending some time with AUSTIN form Corel support about my issue.

1st, any terms I use, could be inappropriate/wrong.

Austin confirmed that the duplicate frames exist in my 2 clips on VS.

Seems that the way Nikon is "encoding" the files for the MOV wrapper has some ambiguities, which causes VS including some analytic software to misinterpret, and therefore cause the problem.

I asked Austin to let me know if he found "conversation" software that I could use pre VS, he said he would try.

NOTHING done within VS, solves the problem.

If anybody out there would recommend said software, please let me know.

Thanks, Bug-eyed.

Hi

Thanks Bug Eyed, at least Corel are aware of problems reading those file types.

Unfortunately there are thousands of manufacturers creating their own versions or tweaking existing video formats, it leaves the Video Editors playing catch-up.

Certainly some players do show the full frames without any duplicates, it’s a pity the camera manufactures don’t provide a small conversion program dedicated to their video.

I Used Super to convert your samples with mixed results, I will give it another go, I may have to download again, a recent clean of my pc may have deleted those.

Hi BugEyed

I tried Super again but struggled with finding any HD settings that Video Studio liked, trying to insert a converted video just froze the program.

I have a program called AVS Video Converter seems to work quite well. Not free but reasonably priced, however I am struggling finding a price on there site, They do a package and I may update my software.

I have uploaded a sample converted to Mpeg4 to 4Shared
No duplicated frames.

I think I will just do the Windows "convert" to WMV for all clips from this cam before VS, and call it a day.

Does not appear to effect quality, actually seems to be better in some ways, and the file size is essentially the same, so I don't think anything is being lost

Thank you everybody, BUG-EYED.
