Annoying Navigating through menus

Post by XBatmanX »

I have Movie Factory 2 and I have a problem with how it navigates through the chapters and their thumbnails. For example when you scroll through page after page of your thumbnails, Movie Factory doesn't automatically highlight the forward button. Instead it highlights the topmost thumbnail. You then have to press down 2 or so times on your remote control to highlight the forward button and go on to the next page. You do this again and again and it gets annoying and tiresome if you have like 10 pages. I wish it would automatically highlight the forward button, it would make navigation much easier. Anyone with a lot of chapter points will know what I'm talking about.
I was lucky when I installed a trial of Movie Factory 3 because it fixed the problem. I didn't continue using Movie Factory 3, but it made Movie Factory 2 select the forward button automatically somehow, and so everything was working like I wanted to. It must've added some file to the Windows system or something, I don't know. Everything was great until I decided to try out the new Movie Factory 4 trial and now Movie Factory 2 is behaving like it used to and doesn't automatically select the forward button anymore. Does anyone know if there's anything that can be done to change this? Or some recommendations on other software(not too complicated software) that does this automatically. I'd like something that can also do more than 99 chapters. It's too bad Movie Factory limits you as it is a good and easy program to work with. If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it.

DVD WorkShop allows you to create you own DVD menus from scratch. It has an option to select the default highlight button when the menu is displayed.

for the 99 chapters, this is not a limit of MovieFactory or any other programs. This is the standard limit for the DVD spec. DVD standards only allows you to add 99 titles with each title having 99 chapters in them.

I was able to get the feature back by uninstalling everything and reinstalling. This time I erased every mention of Ulead on my system, even in the registry :) Sure enough it worked. I didn't know there was a 99 limit on all software, at least Movie Factory's not the problem here then. There is one program that can bypass the 99 limit I THINK, and it's DVD Lab. That program's too complicated to use though so I don't think I'll be going that way.
