After months of use I get the following error when starting PSPx4
Setup.exe - Bad Image
c:\windows\system32\msacm32.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error . Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.
It was working fine yesterday. When I got this error I uninstalled the program and tried a fresh install via download from the Corel website. When the installation download hits %100 and tries to install this message pops up immediately. (Yes, it is the same message I received initially when trying to launch PSP).
I have tried 4 times to get the program to install. Any idea?
Thanks.
(BTW I did a forum search and did not see any similar issues)

Re: PSP X4 Setup.exe - Bad Image
The error means that your installer files are damaged.
If you're installing from a download (corel.com) then you may need to redownload the file, before downloading, I suggest that you disable your anti-virus and firewall. If you're downloading from corel.com the files are safe and virus free.
If your installing from a disc, did the disc came from corel or from another reseller? If from corel and this is the first time you are trying to install the program, then you can request for a replacement disc - http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... ement-CD-s
From a reseller - make sure you still have the receipt or invoice then you can request a replacement from the store.
If you're installer came from another source other than those that I mentioned above, I suggest that you contact where you got the installer and tell them the problem.

Re: PSP X4 Setup.exe - Bad Image
Thanks for the tip.
I use AVG free and have it turned off now, but it didn't work. I got the same error message.
The strange thing is, I had to reinstall last month and AVG did not interfere.

Re: PSP X4 Setup.exe - Bad Image
Anti-virus programs are always changing their definitions and heuristics algorithms to try and get the best results. Unfortunately this could lead to programs that were once considered fine to no be counted as viruse's in a false-positive. If that happens many anti-virus providers have a way of allowing you to refute a false-positive so that future updates won't cause this problem. Now I doubt that that is what happened here but just saying.
