Compatability with ipads & PPProx14
Hi there, I have a Paint shop Pro x14 (hardly used). I want to know if this software can be used on a tablet, such as Apple Ipad, or even a laptop. I read a review that did not recommend working with photos, particularly old ones that need a considerable amount of editing, on a laptop. The younger members of my family are urging me to purchase an ipad, but I dont think this would be suitable. In short, mainly looking for a way to have more access to working on photos, rather than being subjected to working in on desktop PC in isolation mode. Any suggestions or information would be appreciated. RF

No it won't work on an iPad.
PSP is a Windows based program. That means it requires a Windows operating system to work. The iPad is actually underpowered compared to a laptop. The Microsoft Surface Pro tablet, not out yet, will be able to run full Windows programs like PSP if you're looking to use PSP on a tablet though I can't imagine why you would. It has to be the Pro version because that one will run programs that required the old x86 architecture. THe current surface tablet runs Windows 8 RT which is specifically designed for the ARM architecture which PSP will not run on. Though Corel might be coming out with a program that will be usable in the Modern UI of Windows 8 RT.
Tablets have many excellent photo editing apps that can do some general touch-up work but obviously lack the power of a full editor. I think a tablet would be good for such things but not full editing for a while yet. Though they are getting better.
I have a laptop only, well I have a Nexus 7 tablet but I only use that for working on our servers, and I do full editing of photos on it. Honestly, these days Laptops are generally good enough to do most of the work necessary. And if it's the touch pad people hate, which many do, you can easily pick up a pen tablet or a mouse. So I believe a laptop is a perfectly fine choice to work on. I may not be any good at photo editing but I can hardly blame that on the laptop. :lol
Now, that being said there is one other option though I think it a little crazy. If you had a desktop set up in your house, and had continual internet access wherever you went. You could control the desktop remotely from your iPad though I don't think this would work as well for photo editing as using the desktop directly.

Just to add to what LeviFiction said - I think getting a laptop is your best option... and laptops now a days are cheap and has the power of desktops plus mobile too.

Thank you for replies, much appreciated. I had my doubts about the ipad, but being 'over the hill' according to some, thought I had better confirm. RF
