previously used disk and serial key
I saw for sale a used Corel WindDVD Pro 11 (disk and Serial Key) that was installed on their computer running Windows 7 but the person selling it had upgraded to Windows 8 which isn't compatible with Corel WinDVD Pro 11, so they were selling their Corel WinDVD Pro 11 disk with the once-used (but no longer used) serial key. What does the Corel WinDVD license agreement say about buying and installing a previously used (but in this situation no longer used) copy of Corel WionDVD Pro 11? Is it legitimate to buy a previously used disk/serial key from someone else who is no longer using the program on their computer and install/activate it on my computer?

I *think* it is legal providing you or the seller contact Corel customer services to de-activate the serial number registered by the previous owner (assuming of course that they registered it)
But you really need some input from someone like Abiel - he may well be online soon.

Hello dpi,
Like what Briancee said, it's perfectly legal into reselling the product and if the first owner registered the product, that can be an issue -- so I may need to get back on you about that one.
Because what usually happens if that if a product is for re-sell, we usually find that they're source is not from Corel or they already sold the same copy to a number of individual (more or less 5 persons).
Btw.. how much is he selling the product to you?
WinDVD is currently on sale, so if it's just within that price, why not just get a brand new copy.

I would advise installing the trial version first to make sure you're able to select which file associations you are able to adjust.
