tags won't delete

I have PSPProX5. There is a very long list of tags under the Collections tab. The tag list came with the program, I didn't add them. I'm trying to delete some of these tags that I'm sure I will never use. To delete (per instructions), I right click on a tag, and click on 'delete.' Problem is, the tag deletes for only a short time, and then reappears. I had the same problem with PSPProx4, and finally just quit trying to delete some of that long list of tags. I would like to get my tags list the way I want it though. Is there anything I can do to delete tags and have them stay deleted?

I have both X4 and X 5 and cannot see a list of tags. Only people and places.

Do you have a lot of images with information added to the IPTC data and perhaps it is picking up from this. I just do not use manage or Adjust modes at all so cannot help any further here.

No. I have already checked that. Most of the tags don't have any image at all attached to it. And even if it did, I should be able to delete the tag after deleting the attached images. I would be happy to send a picture of the tags, but I don't know how.

after deleting the tags, have you tried resetting your PSP X5?

You can do that by pressing and holding down the SHIFT key then double-click on the PSP icon then when you received the message "DO YOU WAN TO RESTORE PAINTSHOP Pro TO ITS DEFAULT STATE?" just click OK.

Can you please tell me where in the Manage screen is the PSP icon. There's a PSP icon in the task bar at the bottom of the screen, but other than that, I don't see a PSP icon. I tried double clicking on the taskbar icon, butI didn't get any message, and nothing happened. Thanks.

The PSP icon is the one on your desktop if you chose to have one there when you installed the program ( like a lot of the other program icons you will have on your desktop)
You need to close PSP forst and then holding the shift key down double click the icon on the desktop to start the program.

I've tried the latest suggestion. It doesn't work. I also tried changing the Default launch Workspace to Keep Last View. That doesn't work either. I've spent a lot of time deleted tags in that list, only to have the deleted tags reappear when I reopen the program. It's obviously a glitch in the program somehow. But I don't need a list of hundreds of tags, most of which I will probably never use, so they are just in the way. The delete function is not of much use if the deletion will not stay deleted.
