Hello,
I was using a trial version of paint shop pro x5 and still had 11 days left of my trial when it suddenly stopped working. When I click on the icon to start paint shop pro it starts up and then freezes every time when it is loading in the spot that says "initializing color swatches".
I haven't changed anything on my computer- it just suddenly stopped working. I uninstalled it and tried reinstalling it, I also tried restoring it.
Please help! I was thinking of purchasing this but I am afraid the purchased copy will also freeze.

Re: PSP x5 won't load
I don't recall if the trial of X5 did that for me but I get it every now and then with X4. I have to use the Task Manager to shut it down (End Process) and then it usually loads fine the next time I try. When it hangs, it's usually while it's loading the color swatches just like it's doing for you.
Using Paint Shop Pro versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16

Re: PSP x5 won't load
I've been getting this too where occasionally it'll CTD on startup but then work 2 or 3 attempts later. Anyway we can get this sorted? Its a bit of nuisance for sure.

Have you tried restoring the program to it's default state? Here are the steps -- http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... l-settings
