I wonder if any one can help me i am in the middle of doing a video for my father in laws 70th , And have hit a problem every time i import or add a video to vs x2 it shuts down , its fine with photos , Soon as i add video it shuts down i thought maybe it was a codec problem and installed k-lite full pack but still no change
It would be helpful if you could tell us the format of the video you are inserting. Is it all from the same source? Can you tell us the make and model of your camcorder? And can you click on a video clip in either the VS timeline or library window -- if one will stay there long enough -- and copy its Properties here, please? You might also tell us exactly what steps you are taking to "import or add" a video clip. Thanks.
Im using a cannon camcorder hg10 , Its hd Avchd , All video is from this camcorder , As for Timeline it wont stay on long enough , And i have tried both to import and to add ,Either way no joy
Thanks Pedro. Well, the HG10 films in 1920 x 1080i/29.97 fps at a maximum resolution bitrate of 15 Mbps. As such, it is well within the frame of what Video Studio X2 (and indeed VS 11+ and subsequent versions) can handle. So I would only be guessing as to why it is not working for you. Have you applied the patch for X2?
Can you also tell us exactly how you are trying to import the video into VS? Normally, when there is a problem like this we suggest transferring the video from the camcorder to your computer, then inserting the video into your VS from there. I think Canon provide software for such a transfer, don't they?
Two questions
1 / Do you see any error messages when Video Studio shuts down, or does it simply disappear from the desktop?
2 / Have you installed the patch for VS 12 (X2)?
